Secretary’s Beat – Meeting Minutes

Hamfesters Amateur Radio Club meeting on Zoom Sept. 4, 2020 @ 7:32 pm.

Roll: NOra KC9MLV, Jim W9JPR, Ed WA9EOL,

25 members attended tonight, on Zoom.

Health & Welfare: Gregg AB9MZ, Mom is undergoing treatment for cancer. Brian’s Step-Dad will celebrate his 100th Birthday.

Minutes: The Aug. club minutes were approved by: Ed WA9EOL, and Dave N9KPD.

Treasurer’s Report: by Ed W9EOL, club dues received, will buy vehicle sticker for club’s trailer.

Secretary Report: by Patti KC9LYE, starting Monday Sept. 28th, until the first Monday in Dec.
I will be taking a Handiham CW course via Zoom. So, I won’t be able to attend board meetings.
Jim W9JPR, will take minutes. Thanks Jim.

Program: Tonight’s program by Gregg AB9MZ,”Digital Modes”.

New Bussiness: by Al N9ZD, The FCC is going to apply a $50.00 fee on amateur radio. This is important!

Hamfesters VE Testing Report

The Hamfester’s VE examinations to Continue on APPOINTMENT TIMES ONLY for the remainder of the year. NO WALK-INS

The Hamfester’s Radio Club VE test session(s) for 10/10 – 11/14 – 12/12  will be Appointment only.

Candidates MUST email to get an appointed time (earliest 8AM), other instructions, and directions to the Exam Location

TEST Location: TBD – Oak Forest, IL  60452  (will be using a VE’s Garage for now unless Oak Forest City Hall reopens)

VE Stock test material will be in Plastic protective sleeves to protect the next user after disinfectant cleaner applied.

NOTE: Since Hamfester’s average candidate attendance the past years has been average of 4, the 
Appointment times will be 3 candidates 8:00 AM / 3 candidates 9:30AM /  3 candidates 11:00AM  / Flexible as needed

A Special ‘Thank You’ to All the VE’s volunteering there Saturday morning to assist me at the Exam sessions.
